Casino BankID - how to get started
- You must have a BankID to be able to play at casinos with a license.
- You cannot get a BankID from Revolut, Wise or that type of bank.
- We recommend mobile BankID over BankID on file.
We will now directly tell you how to get a casino BankID.
Casino BankID
You must have a social security number and be a customer of a bank that issues BankID. Since we are talking about the casino context, you must also be at least 18 years old to play.
Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, ICA Banken, Länsförsäkringar Bank, Nordea, SEB, Skandia, Sparbanken Syd, Swedbank and Ålandsbanken.
The first thing you need to do is download the app from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android). It looks like this:
To find it, you can search for "bankid" in the App Store or Google Play. To enter the App Store or Google Play, you need an Apple ID or a Google account.
You can get these for free, but remember that you need to create an email address in both cases (if you don't already have one). Both Apple and Google have clear instructions on how to do this.
It depends on which bank you use. All banks have a very clear guide on how to proceed.

Now you have everything you need to start playing at any casino (that is, "any" as long as you choose one with a license, which we here explains why you should).
BankID is required to create an account (also with No Account Casino ) at the casinos. You will also use BankID to log in or make deposits and withdrawals.
In short, you can say that BankID is the key to the front door of all casinos. Without BankID you will not be able to play with real money.
Who is behind BankID?
The company behind the service is called Finansiell ID-Teknik BID AB, and is jointly owned by several major banks: Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, Ikano Bank, Länsförsäkringar Bank, SEB, Skandiabanken, and Swedbank. BankID is therefore not a government service, but a private one (although the Financial Supervisory Authority has shown interest in nationalizing it, as BankID is currently completely dominant for identity verification).
How does casino BankID work?
When you visit a casino, you must log in to your account in order to play for real money. If you are not logged in, most casinos still allow you to try the games for free with play money. But as soon as login is required, casino BankID is also required.
Admittedly, there are a few exceptions, such as Chance (which allows you to log in using a username and password, after at least once identifying yourself with casino BankID), but the vast majority use casino BankID today.
- Casino BankID is used both to register an account and to subsequently log in.
- The app is used not only to identify you, but also to authorize deposits and withdrawals.
- The Gambling Act requires that casinos with a license use casino BankID for verification.
Even when it comes to deposits, casino BankID is required. You then fill in the amount you want to deposit on the casino site, and then approve it in the app. Once that's done, you can start playing!
Direct withdrawals with casino BankID
More and more casinos today offer so-called instant withdrawals. These require the casino to have an account with the same bank as you. As soon as the money is to be transferred between different banks, it starts to take time, but if it is two accounts with the same bank, it goes instantly (that is, within five minutes). Instant withdrawals are made possible with casino BankID.
Scams and fraud with BankID
This has been appearing in the news a lot. What it's about is scammers calling people (often older people who have less technical knowledge than younger people) and pretending to be from a bank or a company. The scammer then wants you to log in with BankID, so that he can gain access to and empty your account.
The important thing to remember here is that casinos NEVER contact you and ask you to log in or verify yourself with casino BankID. If someone contacts you and wants this, you can almost be sure that it is a scammer. However, it may be that the casino wants you to log in if you have contacted their customer service yourself. But then it is you who have made the contact and therefore know that you are not talking to a scammer.
Mobile BankID or BankID on file?
There are two different types of casino BankID, and we strongly recommend the mobile one. We assume that you always have your mobile with you, and then you can use casino BankID whenever you want. However, if you have BankID on your computer, you naturally need to have the computer available as soon as it is to be used.
BankID on file is exactly what it sounds like, a file that is stored on your computer. But in order for this file to be secure, it is protected by a password that even the bank cannot retrieve if you lose it. If you lose your password for BankID on file, you will need to obtain a completely new ID through the bank.
- Mobile BankID is more flexible as you can use it anywhere.
- There are no real advantages to BankID on file.
- It is not certain that BankID on file is accepted at all casinos.
If we were to find any disadvantage of mobile BankID, it would be the risk of you neglecting your phone. But that risk exists with everything...
Technical requirements
This should not be a problem if you do not have a very old computer or mobile phone, but since there are still people who have very old technology, we will still mention it. The requirement we are referring to here is the operating system on the mobile phone or computer, which must be new enough to be compatible with casino BankID.
You can find information about your operating system in the settings on your mobile or computer.

- iOS 12 or later (for Apple mobiles).
- Android 6 or later (for, among others, Samsung mobiles).
